Form 168 (26AS): Check Client TDS
Customers who deduct TDS from your payment must deposit it and file it under your PAN. Form 168 (called Form 26AS before tax year 2026-27) lists what they actually filed. Upload its text file and the app sets it against the TDS on your Payment In entries, customer by customer: Matches, Short (they cut it but have not filed it — follow up), Extra (in the statement but not in your books) or No Customer (link the TAN once). Claim only TDS that shows in Form 168.
- On the TRACES portal (via the income tax e-filing site), download Form 168 for the year as Text.
- Open the zip with its password (date of birth or formation, DDMMYYYY) and take out the .txt file.
- Open Accounts → TDS → Form 168 / 26AS, pick the tax year and upload the file.
- Link any "No Customer" TAN to the right customer; it is remembered for next time.
